Corey Gameiro has spoken out about Saturday night's horror tackle that he feared would derail his slow return to the game.
Gameiro, who has undergone three knee contructions, was flattened by Wout Brama who lunged in with his studs in the 94th minute during Saturday night's Central Coast clash.
The 24-year-old took to Instagram to assure well-wishers he was okay: "Just going to have a good bruise down my shin".
Straight red. Ouch. Could've snapped his leg in two. #CCMvBRI. 4 weeks out easily. #ALeague. pic.twitter.com/LucXgE0wA6

The incident sparked immediate outrage among pundits and fans with Fox Sports commentator, Mark Bosnich, calling for Brama to be hit with a six week ban.
But Gameiro revealed the experienced Dutchman was also deeply affected by the incident and approached him in the tunnel after the game to apologise.
"He was also emotional towards me. Thank you for that, means a lot to me and my family."
The tackle overshadowed Brisbane's 2-1 win which put the Queensland outfit back into the top six.
