The 28-year-old Australian international, who started for the Socceroos against Germany in their World Cup opener, had recently been linked with a £500k switch to Championship club Coventry City.

But Garcia told the Hull Daily Mail there was little in the rumour.

"I've seen the stories but as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing in it," he said.

"I've never been spoken to by anyone and for me, I'm still at Hull City until the club no longer need my services.

"I'm still happy to be a Hull City player. I've had my ups and downs with the club."

The Tigers, who were relegated from the English Premier League last season, are believed to be eager to cut their playing squad as they try to reduce spiralling debts.

Garcia added: "They've always done the right thing by me and I'd like to think I've always done the right thing by them as well.

"Until I hear anything different, I'll still be a Hull City player next season."
