The 29-year-old Hull City man, who has 14 international caps, is set to have surgery on the knee problem ruling him out for the next month.

Australian strikers Joshua Kennedy and Archie Thompson have already been ruled out of the Asian Cup due to injury.

Hull boss Nigel Pearson said: "It looks as though we'll miss him for the same amount of time if he'd have gone away.

"It's looking like he will miss out on the trip now because he'll have an operation on his knee to sort that out.

"He's been having a bit of discomfort for a while now so hopefully we can get to the bottom of it.

"It's unfortunate because during the times when we were toiling a little bit, Garc was one of our really good performers.

"Whatever job we gave him, he did it without any moaning at all. He's been a great performer for us so I'm disappointed for him."
