Garde's side take on third-tier Quevilly at the Stade de France on Saturday, where they will heavy favourites to secure the competition for the first time since 2008.

Following the cup final, Lyon have five matches of the Ligue 1 season remaining, as they look to make up a six-point deficit on third-placed Lille, who occupy the final Champions League qualification berth.

"I am just thinking that there is a Coupe de France title to grab," Garde said.

"It is the next major trophy after the title. We still hope that after this final we will secure third place to play the Champions League.

Lyon, playing in their first season under Garde, missed out on a place in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue when they went down 1-0 to Marseille in the semi-finals.

"It is potentially our first trophy together, but at the start of the season, no one would have bet on us being there," he said.

"Of course, as we will play against a semi-pro team, we are hot favourites, but logic in football is often not respected. As others have said, we have missed out on our first final and we don't want to slip up again."

After seeing his team shock Marseille and Stade Rennes in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively, Quevilly coach Regis Brouard is hoping the relative minnows can spring another surprise in the decider.

"What would I say were our assets? Our strength would be staying consistent in terms of our work ethic and our footballing style," he said.

"That's what will be interesting for me. We will just try to do a 'Quevilly'. It's as simple as that. With our qualities and our weaknesses, we will just try to implement our game plan."
