Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a hairline fracture of the fibula during the 3-3 draw with Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The 25-year-old has already spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines this season through injury and he suffered his latest setback shortly after coming on as a substitute.
Spurs boss Martin Jol confirmed the news on the club's official website, www.tottenhamhotspur.com: "Anthony came on at Chelsea and after a couple of seconds took a knock to his knee.
"We'll do a CT scan but it looks like he'll be out for around six weeks.
"Fortunately, we have a squad of versatile players who can cover our defensive positions."
