Preziosi's team lost for the first time since mid-November and he lashed out at the former Italy playmaker, arguing that Genoa's Giuseppe Sculli was sent off because Totti went down too easily.

Sculli was twice booked for fouls on Totti.

"Roma's victory cannot be disputed and we needed a dose of humility but Totti is a cheat," he said.

"There are a great many divers in Italy and Totti is the biggest of them all."

Genoa coach Gianpiero Gasperini hinted that in yesterday's game, Totti's intentions were clear.

"Totti a diver? What can I say, the images are there," he said.

Genoa defender Matteo Ferrari, who played alongside Totti for three years at Roma, believes the Giallorosso star usually gets what he wants.

"Let's just say that Francesco is good at earning certain fouls," he said.

Genoa dropped to fifth place level on 40 points with Roma.
