HULL midfielder George Boateng claims a hostile reception will make him doubly determined to win at former club Aston Villa on Monday.
Former Holland international Boateng quit Villa Park for Middlesbrough in a £4.5million deal in 2002.
The 33-year-old now returns with his latest club looking for a victory to stave off the threat of relegation.
Boateng wrote in his internet blog: "I expect the usual reception when we start the game: 'Booooo!'
"But for some reason it always motivates me to try harder and play better.
"I believe the Villa fans have never forgiven me for leaving the club so unexpectedly.
"I left because I didn't feel the club was going to win something in the near future.
"There were many problems behind closed doors that led to many players not being happy including myself.
"That affected me on and off the pitch and led to me not feeling appreciated at Aston Villa.
"One thing led to another and there came a moment when I said, 'Enough is enough'.
"The bucket was full of problems and I couldn't find a solution so I had to seek a new challenge."
Hull, with four games remaining, are facing a battle to preserve their Barclays Premier League status after winning just once in their last 18 outings.
