Daniel Georgievski has reason to feel a little jaded.
When the rampaging fullback left Melbourne Victory in 2017, it looked like one of the finest-timed moves in A-League records.
The former Macedonian international joined a side that had finished second last and suddenly they were fighting for the Premiership, while his former side were languishing outside of the top four.
As it happened, the 30-year-old lost the Championship to his former club, in front of his new home fans. Now Victory have gone from strength to strength, signing a slew of the hottest prospects in the league's history in the process, while Newcastle sit equal sixth, only two points above ninth-placed Brisbane Roar.
But rather than a little green around the gills, it was a cocky, jovial, laughing, even "rattled" Georgievski who fronted the media ahead of this weekend's clash with table-topping Perth Glory.
"They're doing quite well but I havent watched many of the other games," Georgievski said. "They're in first place but we're at home so good luck to them.
"If we have both wings attacking quite well then there's definitely goals in us.
"I think we just keep playing the same thing, I dont think we've changed too much, I think we just have extra energy and aggression when we play in front of our home fans."
Georgievski's hoping that the side can carry their convincing, if not vintage, 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar into the clash against Tony Popovic's undefeated side.
"That was a really positive thing," he said. "We took our chances.
"It's just another game, we're going through that motion and we don't want to get stuck into it.
"We don't put any goals, we just look week in, week out, just get the points, play well and keep that consistency going.
"A home game is a home game, I want to kill it."
