Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat has refused to be drawn on the future of star right back Jason Geria who has been linked with a move to Japan.
Geria started on the bench for Friday night's match against crosstown rivals Melbourne City adding to speculation that he is on the verge of joining JEF United.
The 24-year-old has been a target of the J2 outfit before, but this time it looks like both clubs have reached a deal.
Muscat told Fox Sports before the crunch derby: "Look I haven't got any further to say on the matter.
"(i'm) looking forward to the game coming up in a matter of moments so that's where the concentration lays."
Geria has just one Socceroos cap but is viewed as a potential long-term prospect for the national team.
His loss at the pointy end of the season is far from ideal for Victory who are seeking to rein in third-placed City leading into the playoffs.
Geria was part of Victory's 2014/15 Premiership-Championship and 2015 FFA Cup winning team.
