Even though Manchester United head into tomorrow's clash with Blackburn six points ahead of Chelsea with only eight games to play, Giggs is not expecting the Londoners to concede their crown without a fight.

Jose Mourinho has already earmarked United's delayed trip to Stamford Bridge on May 9 as a time when Chelsea can halve the deficit, so it would only take one other slip on a tricky run-in for the Red Devils to find themselves in trouble.

After eight successive wins in all competitions, United have not looked like stumbling but Giggs, already the most decorated player in Old Trafford history, refuses to believe the job is done just yet.

"We definitely can't afford to get carried away," he said.

"Chelsea keep winning to put pressure on us and I am sure it will go down to the wire because they are a good team.

"They are champions and they want to keep the title, so it is not going to be easy.

"But the momentum is with us and we have played really well. We just have to keep that going."

With the FA Cup quarter-final and replay against Middlesbrough preceding the international break, United have played just once in the league since their last-gasp win at Liverpool on March 3.

It was the second of successive late victories for Sir Alex Ferguson's men, the previous one coming at Fulham, which convinced most pundits United will end their four-year Premiership drought in May.

"It is the sign of a championship-winning side," admitted Giggs.

"We have done it a few times this season, certainly more so than in the past few campaigns.

"It is what we used to do when we were winning titles - there are times when you don't play well, but you hang in there, defend well and get a positive result."

After losing so many senior men prior to this week's Euro 2008 qualifiers, Ferguson is expected to welcome back up to four.

Paul Scholes returns from suspension, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha are expected to be available after knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

In addition, Edwin van der Sar should also be back in the United goal after confirming his fitness from a recent calf injury by completing the full 90 minutes of Holland'sEuro 2008 win over Slovenia on Wednesday.
