Giovani, who scored his first league goals for the Catalan giants after netting a hat-trick in Saturday's season-ending 5-3 win at Real Murcia, has been one of a number of Barca players linked with a summer move to the Barclays Premier League.

The 19-year-old forward would prefer to stay at Barca, but insists if his future lies elsewhere then he will not accept a temporary move.

"If I'm going, it is forever. I am one of those who thinks that if you are at the end of a cycle in one place then you don't return," said Giovani, who underwent an ankle operation today that is set to keep him sidelined for around a month.

The Mexican added in Marca: "I want to be successful wherever I am, be it at Barca or another club."
