Arsenal's Olivier Giroud wants to improve on the club's showing in Europe next season.
Having secured UEFA Champions League qualification with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, Giroud is demanding that Arsenal become a force in Europe in the 2013-14 campaign.
Arsene Wenger's men crashed out of this year's competition to Bayern Munich in the round of 16 and Giroud is eager to make amends.
"It's 16 years in a row we've succeeded to qualify for the Champions League," he said.
"We knew it was really important. For me it will be the second season in the Champions League.
"When you play in the Champions League, you always improve yourself and it's better for competition.
"We are competitors and want to play in the top games. I really enjoy playing against big clubs like Bayern Munich. I would like to go further next year."
