Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has announced his decision to retire from international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
Given, 36, made 125 appearances for his country, becoming the most capped player in Ireland history.
He played all three of Ireland's matches at Euro 2012 in June, with the team bowing out in the group stage following losses to Spain, Croatia and Italy.
"I have dedicated 16 years of my life to my county and I have a great affinity with Giovanni Trapattoni's squad," he said.
"I'd like to thank the Giovanni, Marco (Tardelli) and Alan Kelly for their support during my time with the team.
"I will continue to be Ireland's biggest fan and wish the lads well as they embark upon their new campaign."
Former Newcastle United and Manchester City goalkeeper Given also played for Ireland at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and Korea.
