Borussia Monchengladbach are hoping to create the shock of the second round of the German Cup by becoming the first team all season to beat Bayern Munich.
Former Bayern and Germany full-back Christian Ziege, now director of sport at the second division club, believes there is a chance of an upset when the two sides meet on Wednesday night.
"We will go into this game full of self-confidence and hope that we can annoy Bayern a little," he told the club's website.
"There is no need for us to hide."
The Foals will look at Bavarian minnows Wacker Burghausen, who came to within one penalty of defeating Bayern in the first round, as an example to what is possible in the cup competition.
In August, Bayern goalkeeper Oliver Kahn saved a sudden-death penalty against the part-timers to save his side from an embarrassing defeat.
"We are not without a chance," added Ziege. "Burghausen were unlucky to lose on penalties and it is not as if Bayern played badly that day.
"If we are courageous and have a bit of luck, then we have a chance."
Gladbach are looking to return to the Bundesliga this season and have won seven out of their last eight games to move to the top of the second division mirroring Bayern's dominant form in the top flight.
Wednesday's other ties see holders Nurnberg travel to Carl Zeiss Jena, Arminia Bielefeld go to Koblenz and Hamburg host Freiburg in clashes between the top two divisions.
Dortmund host Frankfurt in one of two all-Bundesliga clashes, while Duisburg visit Werder Bremen in the other.
Stuttgart entertain Paderborn and, finally, Essen lock horns with Kaiserslautern for a place in the last 16.
