The Gers went down 3-0 to Hibernian at Ibrox while their Old Firm rivals were beaten 2-0 at Hearts.

It is the first time both Old Firm clubs have lost and been held goalless on the same day in almost 14 years.

The Easter Road side stunned their hosts thanks to goals from Liam Miller, John Rankin and Francis Dickoh.

Miller opened the scoring after just six minutes and Rankin doubled the lead in the 19th minute. Dickoh sealed the upset 14 minutes from time.

It was Rangers' first SPL loss of the season and Colin Calderwood's first victory as Hibs manager.

Walter Smith's men remained one point clear at the top of the table, though, with Celtic also slipping up.

Goals by Ian Black and David Templeton gave Hearts victory over 10-man Celtic at Tynecastle as Hoops manager Neil Lennon was sent to the stand.

Black gave the home side the lead with a deflected drive in the 28th minute and in the 56th minute he was crunched in a tackle by Joe Ledley to earn the Hoops midfielder a red card.

Two minutes later the Gorgie men scored a breakaway second through Templeton before Lennon was dismissed from the dugout by referee Craig Thomson after aggressively complaining about a Celtic penalty claim that was ignored.

Nick Blackman struck a first-half hat-trick to earn third-placed Motherwell a 4-0 win over St Johnstone at Fir Park.

The on-loan Blackburn forward converted in the 12th and 24th minutes after the visitors were twice caught out down their left flank.

Blackman finished from close range in first-half injury-time following Stevie Hammell's free-kick and John Sutton rounded off the scoring with three minutes left.

Conor Sammon claimed a second-half brace to propel Kilmarnock to a 3-0 victory over Hamilton at Rugby Park.

After Ben Gordon had given the home team a 34th-minute lead, Sammon scored twice in the first seven minutes of the second half to take the game away from the visitors.

Hamilton slipped to the foot of the standings as two clinical strikes from Michael Higdon saw St Mirren move off the bottom with a 2-1 win at Dundee United.

Higdon struck after 41 and 65 minutes as Saints claimed their first points away from home this term to deny Dundee United a third straight success.

Prince Buaben powered in an 86th-minute free-kick to set up a tense finale, but Saints held on.
