Perth Glory will play a pre-season friendly against Chilean Primera Division side Audax Italiano at nib Stadium on July 12.
The four-time Chilean champions will arrive in Australia this July for international pre-season friendlies against Newcastle Jets (July 8) and Perth Glory.
Perth Glory Chief Executive Officer Peter Filopoulos is delighted to welcome the Chilean first division side to the west.
“Perth Glory don’t have many opportunities in the off-season to participate in friendly matches and to be able to play a game against a quality international team such as Chilean giant Audax Italiano FC is a very welcome opportunity,” Filopoulos said.
“Audax Italiano may not be a household name in Australia, however, they are a very competitive club playing in a challenging 16-team league, so this represents a unique opportunity for us to be exposed to and interact with a club that we would not otherwise encounter.

“This match will take place during the second week of our pre-season and will most likely provide our Members and fans with their first opportunity to witness our new recruits in the flesh against a quality opponent.”
Audax Italiano CEO Lorenzo Antillo believes the South Americans will provide Glory with a stern test and shouldn’t be underestimated.
“It’s not very often that a South American club visits Australia, so we want to be able to open this experience up to as many people as possible, the quality of our team and players will surprise them,” he said.
