Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Goetze will miss Saturday's UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
The Germany international had been struggling with a hamstring injury he picked up in the semi-final against Real Madrid and, while it had been hoped he would recover in time, Dortmund have now confirmed he will miss out.
Dortmund also have an injury doubt over defender Mats Hummels who limped off during the game against Hoffenheim at the weekend.
"That final was my goal, and I've worked hard in recent weeks," Goetze told the club's official website.
"I'm incredibly sorry for not being able to help the team in this important game. I have full confidence in our team and will travel to London to support ... the guys."
Goetze will leave Dortmund for Bayern at the end of the season after the Bundesliga champions activated his release clause.
