Central Coast defender Antony Golec says he has nothing to prove when he faces his former club Perth Glory on Sunday.
Golec joined Perth on a two-year deal from Western Sydney in May 2015.
But the 27-year old only made six appearances for the Glory before abruptly departing for Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol in January 2016.
Golec said he enjoyed his time in Western Australia but is returning with the sole aim of helping the Mariners claim their first win of the 2017/18 campaign.
"It always is a homecoming when you're playing an ex-club," he said.
"I've got nothing to prove to anyone, so I'm going to go out and do what I do best and what's best for the team. But it is special, I've got some friends there, I made some close friends so it will be good to go back and see everyone.
"But I'm going there for business and that's to get the three points, that's all that matters. I'm not going to lie, Kenny's a good coach, he's got a lot of experience, he knows what he wants. Perth are a good side, they're hard to beat.
"He's got some quality players in there so they will be tough to beat. But we've got a lot of quality players as well so it's going to come down to us turning up and doing what we have to do and know we can do."
Central Coast have yet to record a victory this season after a loss and a draw in their first two rounds. Perth have also yet to claim the full three points with a defeat and a draw.
Golec said the Mariners need to stick to their structures and gameplan.
"The first round wasn't great, it didn't go the way we wanted to, which was disappointing," the centre back said.
"But this second round against the Wanderers we did really well. We played to our strengths, we limited out weaknesses, so we're looking forward to this round now. Perth are a good team, there's no easy game in the A-League.
"For us we have to stick to what we're good at and hopefully it comes off and we can run away with the three points. The coaching staff have really pushed on us to play out possession football, but not to be conservative.
"When we have a chance to go forward we go forward with the ball and we do it really well. We link up well with each other, we have good chemistry and it's only getting stronger from here.
"We just have to continue doing that and if we do that against Perth we know we can get that three points. Unfortunately we did cop that second goal against the Wanderers that kind of ruined the game for us - but that's football - we have to do well for 90 minutes and make sure we're solid.
"This week I think we'll definitely do that. We want to be in the top six and we can do it. We have the belief for it and no one's going to get in our way."
