Maya Yoshida and Brazilian duo Davi and Magnum scored as Japan's Nagoya Grampus kicked off their maiden Asian Champions League campaign with a comeback 3-1 win at South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai in Group E.
Cho Jin-soo opened the scoring for the home side, who reached the semi-finals of the prestigious competition in 2006, at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium after 25 minutes as he converted from close range following Yeom Ki-hun's corner.
Magnum thought he had equalised for the visitors six minutes before the break but his effort was ruled out for offside.
But Nagoya, who qualified for the continental competition with a third-place finish in the J League last season, were back on level terms eight minutes after the restart as Japan international Yoshida headed home Keiji Yoshimura's corner despite appeals for offside from the home side.
Both teams had their chances to take the lead as the half progressed and it was Nagoya who took their opportunity with 13 minutes remaining as Davi headed home his third goal in two games for his new club.
Davi made an immediate impact on his debut, scoring twice as Nagoya overcame Oita Trinita 3-2 in their opening game of the new J League season last weekend.
Luishino came close to pulling the home side level soon after but his speculative long-range free-kick narrowly drifted the wrong side of the upright.
The home side, under the stewardship of new coach Kim Ho-gon, failed to muster another serious attacking threat in the closing stages and, with four minutes remaining, Magnum headed home Naoshi Nakamura's inviting free-kick to seal the three points for Dragan Stojkovic's Nagoya.
