The English press believe the Cottagers are edging ever closer to capturing the Socceroos midfielder with manager Roy Hodgson still looking to strengthen his squad after last season's great escape.

According to The Independent Fulham have lodged a four million pound bid with Torino for Grella with Swedish right-back Fredrik Stoor also on his way to Fulham for half that sum.

If Fulham succeed in landing the duo they will join Mark Schwarzer, Andranik Teymourian, Zoltan Gera, David Stockdale, Toni Kallio and the West Ham pair, Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil, at Fulham.

Everton's Andy Johnson is also destined for Fulham with the London club expected to pay the Merseysiders just short of 20 million dollars for his services.
