VINCE Grella has staked a strong claim for a Blackburn Rovers starting slot this weekend after completing 90 minutes for the club's second string.
The Socceroos midfielder put in a full shift as Rovers thumped Middlesbrough reserves 3-0, a match which also saw an outing for striker Benni McCarthy.
A groin injury has left Grella frustrated in recent weeks but he returned at the weekend with an appearance from the bench in the drubbing at Liverpool.
Rovers face a big relegation battle with Stoke City in the English Premier League this weekend.
