Grella, 29, penned a four-year deal with Rovers overnight and will play alongside compatriot Emerton after agreeing to a reported $8.6 million offer.

The Australian midfielder's new club confirmed the deal on its website.

"Rovers have this evening completed the signing of Australian midfielder Vince Grella from Torino on a four-year deal," the site said.

Grella began his European career with Empoli in the Serie A in 1998 before moving to Parma in 2004.

He is in line to make his EPL debut as early as this weekend against Lucas Neill's West Ham.
