The 30-year-old Australian international was reportedly on the verge of a £2m switch to Cimbom last week, but the move has collapsed with Grella unable to agree personal terms.

Grella, who joined Blackburn from Italian club Torino in August 2008, has had an injury-plagued time in Lancashire.

Rovers were believed to be willing to offload the midfielder, as they try to generate funds to boost the club's transfer kitty.

Galatasaray's youth academy co-ordinator Tugay Kerimoglu, a former Rovers player, had said: "Grella is a very solid player. He has shown that in Italy and Britain and he will help us a lot."

After not being able to agree personal times with Grella it is understood Galatasaray have called off the negotiations effectively putting an end to the move.

Grella, who is contracted with Rovers until June 2012, has also been linked with Serie A club Genoa according to Goal.com.
