FORMER A-League keeper Griffin McMaster has joined us at FourFourTwo to select his team of the week from each weekend's performances.
The Pick Master will be highlighting his selection of the key players each week - and telling us why...so let's kick it off with his choices from round one.
GK: Vedran Janjetovic
Sydney FC
Was very safe. Didnt have a lot of degree of difficulty however when required was up to the task.
DL: Joshua Rose
Central Coast Mariners
Pulsating match. Defended very solidly.
DC: Patrick Kisnorbo
Melbourne Heart
One of the best recruits of the 13/14 season in my opinion. Was a rock in defence.
DC: Michael Boxall
Wellington Phoenix
His spell in the Victorian Permier League has served him well. Played a very good match.
DR: Pedj Bojic
Sydney FC
Been a consistent player in the A-League and last Friday night was another solid performance.
ML: Connor Pain
Mebourne Victory
Was made a tough role from Hearts defensive structure. Always mobile/making runs to get balls into the box.
MC: Massimo Murdocca
Melbourne Heart
Another great recruit. Great mindset and works very hard. Solid match.
MC: Alessandro Del Piero
Sydney FC
Scored one and set one up. Showed great tenacity. Sydney still thankful for having him.
MR: Ivan Franjic
Brisbane Roar
Scored the winner and the best player on the park against Wellington. has grown as a player each season.
SC: Jeronimo Neumann
Adelaide United
Bagged a double. Made great runs into the box against Perth, despite his side going down to nine men.
SC: Besart Berisha
Brisbane Roar
The A-League is his own. Scoring and always a threat.
