In the Chinese Super League Jonas Salley and Brendon Santalab put in full shifts in Chengdu Blades' 2-0 win over Shanghai Shenhua. John Hutchinson was sent off after two bookable offences in the 83rd minute. The win puts their four game winless streak to an end.

In the English Premier League, Mark Schwarzer and his Fulham came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester City. Sergio Aguero had given City a two-goal lead but goals from Bobby Zamora and Danny Murphy ensured Fulham walked away with a point, their third draw in as many weeks.

In the Scottish Premier League, Socceroo Matt McKay was missing from the Old Firm derby as Rangers overcame a gallant Celtic side 4-2 in what was a great advert for Scottish football. According to reports, Matt McKay was unable to play due to the U21 player rule that states the club must include at least three players under the age of 21.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Ryan McGowan was not in the Hearts' side that defeated St.Mirren 2-0. That result keeps Hearts undefeated in five games and in fourth place, one point behind third placed Motherwell.

In the Bundesliga, Matthew Leckie was an unused substitute yet again in Borussia Monchengladbach’s 1-0 victory away to bottom placed Hamburg. Monchengladbach sit in third place, two points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, Nikita Rukavytsya was absent from Hertha Berlin’s 2-2 draw against Augsburg at the Olympiastadion Berlin while Mitchell Langerak continued on the bench for Dortmund as his side continued their indifferent start to the season, suffering a dramatic 2-1 defeat at Hannover. Shinji Kagawa had given Dortmund the lead just after the hour mark but goals in the 87th and 89th minute gave Hannover all three points and leave Dortmund winless in four games.

Socceroo Brett Holman completed a full 90 minutes as AZ Alkmaar defeated RKC Waalwijk 2-1 at the Mandemakers Stadion. The result sees AZ join FC Twente at the top of the table after 5 straight wins in the Eredivisie.

Elsewhere in the Eredivisie, Tommy Oar and Michael Zullo started for Utrecht in their 2-2 draw at home to Heracles. Oar played a role in Utrecht’s equalizer as he set up Asare who found the back of the net in the 54th minute. Adam Sarota was an unused substitute.

In the Russian Premier League, Socceroo Luke Wilkshire’s Dinamo Moscow remains two points off top spot after disposing of Amkar 3-0 at the Arena Khimki. Wilkshire played a full 90 minutes as former Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin, Igor Semshov and Pavel Nyakhaychyk all found the back of the net for Moscow.

Across in Italy’s Serie B, Socceroo midfielder Carl Valeri put in a full shift in Sassuolo’s 1-0 win away to Ascoli. The win moves Sassuolo up to top spot, one point ahead of second placed Padova.

In the Croatian 1.HNL, Ljubo Milicevic and Steven Lustica’s Hajduk Split defeated Cibalia 2-0 thanks to goals from Kukoc-Petrello and Sharbini.

In the J-League, Josh Kennedy played a full 90 minutes in Nagoya’s 1-1 draw with Kashima Antlers at the Kashima Soccer Stadium. Nagoya Grampus now sit four points behind league leaders Gamba Osaka.

Alex Brosque and Eddie Bosnar got the better of Matthew Spiranovic in Shimizu S-Pulse’s 1-0 triumph at home to Urawa Reds. Bosnar and Spiranovic both received yellow cards in a match that leaves Urawa just four points above the relegation zone.

Over in Korea, Socceroo Sasa Ognenovski saw red in the 4th minute as 10-man Seongnam slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Gwangju, their second consecutive defeat.

Robert Cornthwaite put in another full shift and received an 81st minute yellow card for Chunnam Dragons as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Jeju United while Luke DeVere could not prevent Gyeongnam going down to league leaders Jeonbuk Motors 3-1. Gyeongnam are winless in five games and sit in ninth place.

Elsewhere in Japan, Iain Fyfe was again absent from the Busan I’Park match day squad. His side suffered a 2-1 defeat away to third placed Seoul.

In J2 League action, Mark Milligan and Jade North were absent from their side’s victories over the weekend. JEF United defeated Fagiano Okayama 1-0 while FC Tokyo trounced Ehime 5-0.

In the Danish Superliga, Nathan Coe could not prevent Sonderjyske suffering a 2-0 loss against Midtjylland at the MCH Arena.

In the Czech Republic, Kerem Bulut returned to the starting line-up for Mlada Boleslav in their 2-0 loss at the hands of Pribram the Czech Liga.

In League One, Alex Cisak and James Wesolowski played 90 minutes in Oldham Athletic’s 3-1 victory away to Leyton Orient.

Over in League Two, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff had to leave the pitch with twenty minutes gone in the first half with a reported ankle injury. Shrewsbury went on to defeat Port Vale 3-2 and move into third place on the table.

And in Greece, Nathan Burns and his AEK Athens side finally returned to the playing field with a 1-0 win against Ergotelis at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis.
