FORMER Brisbane Roar keeper Griffin McMaster selects his team of the week for each round of the A-League - and his old club features strongly this week after their 4-0 win over Sydney FC.
Eugene Galekovic
Adelaide United
Tough decision this week. Eugene conceded two goals but they were difficult shots. Some could say he could have done better on the first goal however I thought he was unsighted. The second goal was a rocket strike from Troisi. The second half was one way traffic and Eugene had a barrage of shots at his end. He played a strong match.
Scott Jamieson
Perth Glory
Perth Glory
Played well. The 0-0 stalemate wasn’t the best game in the round but he was pretty composed on the ball and tracked back well.
Jade North
Brisbane Roar
Brisbane Roar
Played a solid match and even scored a goal. His reading of the game is a strong component for Roar and definitely earned his selection in the team of the week.
Matt Smith
Brisbane Roar
Brisbane Roar
Like North, he scored and also helped his team keep a clean sheet like Jade North. Solid combination.
Connor Chapman
Newcastle Jets
Newcastle Jets
In a dull 0-0 affair, Connor defended well and he’s improved a fair deal since last season.
Matt McKay
Brisbane Roar
Brisbane Roar
He’s back where it started for him in the A-League. Looks at home again and enjoying his football. He set up goals and looks set to have a big year.
Thomas Broich
Brisbane Roar
Brisbane Roar
Has great versatility and can play a number of attacking positions. Was clinical in his passing and play. Scored the fourth.
Marcos Flores
Central Coast Mariners
Central Coast Mariners
Like David Williams, Marcos scored a double. Although they were from the spot, he and Williams were the players in the A-League to score a double.
Ivan Franjic
Brisbane Roar
Played solidly against Wellington Phoenix and the same goes against Sydney. Is relishing pushing up the park and creating more opportunities.
David Williams
Melbourne Heart
Was Heart's best player on the pitch in their encounter against Central Coast Mariners. Should have had a hattrick but was denied by a good save from Justin Pasfield.

Jeremy Brockie
Wellington Phoenix
Wellington Phoenix
Is the only Phoenix player to score against Wanderers and kept that record at the weekend. Is an underated player who always causes problems for opposition teams.
