JOLEON Lescott has been ruled out of Manchester City's Europa League opener in Salzburg with a groin injury.
The England international first felt the problem prior to last weekend's draw with Blackburn and with Wayne Bridge back after an ankle problem picked up during pre-season, manager Roberto Mancini has opted not to take a chance with Lescott's fitness.
Emmanuel Adebayor (dead leg) and Jerome Boateng (foot) both missed the trip to Austria but could come into contention for Sunday's Premier League encounter with Wigan.
