The 22-year-old is the only new face in coach Joachim Low's 22-man party with Mainz duo Lewis Holtby and Andre Schurrle having to settle for places with the Under-21s.

"There are several young players who have played their way into the reckoning with their performances in the Bundesliga and, after discussion with (Under-21 coach) Rainer Adrion, we have decided that they (Holtby and Schurrle) should first be given 90 minutes of match practice for them," explained Low.

"The situation is different with Kevin Grosskreutz since he is no longer eligible for the Under-21s.

"Therefore, given his good performances in recent months, he gets a chance to be with our squad for a few days and to recommend himself for further call-ups and to get to know better the way the national team functions."

However, the chances of Grosskreutz making his senior debut in the next two matches appear slim.

"In our current situation, it is not necessary to make huge changes," added Low.

"We have a lot of faith in our tried and tested team which appeared at the World Cup and fulfilled the expectations in the Euro 2012 qualifiers in September."

Indeed, 17 members of Low's 23-man World Cup squad are included in his latest selection for the visit of Turkey to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin next Friday and the trip to Astana on the following Tuesday.

Rene Adler, Heiko Westermann and Christian Trasch, who would all have been involved at the World Cup had they not picked up injuries prior to the tournament, are also part of the squad.

Low is expecting a tough match against Turkey in a week's time.

"I am looking forward to this game," he said. "It is going to be a true highlight.

"Not only the football gives this game a lot of explosiveness but also the atmosphere in the stadium.

"Lots of Turks live in Berlin and therefore they will get behind their team frenetically at the Olympic Stadium.

"We are ready for that and will be able to deal with the situation. We rate the Turks as our strongest group opponents and their coach Guus Hiddink will certainly send a well-prepared team onto the field.

"With all the sporting ambition of both sides, I would however wish that fair play on and off the field prevails and that we can all celebrate a peaceful football party on this evening."
