World Cup winner Fabio Grosso will finalise his move from Internazionale to Lyon on Monday, the French champions have announced.
The left-back, a key member of the Italy team that won the World Cup in Germany last year, successfully completed a medical at Les Gones on Saturday morning.
The 29-year-old will fly back to Italy on Saturday afternoon, but will return to Lyon on Monday to sign an expected four-year contract, for a fee believed to be in the region of seven million euros (£4.75m).
Grosso will be a replacement for Eric Abidal, who left the Stade Gerland this summer to join Barcelona for 15m euros (£10m).
Grosso joined Inter from Palermo last summer but failed to settle at the San Siro, although he did win the Serie A title in his one season there.
He made his name in the World Cup, scoring in the semi-final against Germany and then netting the winning spot-kick in the shootout as Italy defeated France on penalties in the final.
