The Catalan giants have been in stunning form for most of the campaign and are on course to break all sorts of records if they can keep at that level for the final few weeks.

And the good news for Guardiola is his team are showing no sign of slowing up, with last night`s 1-0 win over Getafe earning Barca their sixth successive league win without conceding a goal, and also extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 matches.

"To see how the team are playing gives me calm for the month and half of the season that remains," said Guardiola following the Getafe win.

"With their performance, the players showed that they want to lift a trophy. You can see that they have the desire to be champions.

"When a team of this level has this will, it`s hard to stop them. I`m very proud of my players.

"Every victory is important, but we cannot deny that with seven games remaining each win means that much more."

The 1-0 scoreline, courtesy of Lionel Messi`s first-half goal, suggests Barca had a tough time of it against one of their bogey clubs, but in truth it should have been another landslide win.

Only a mixture of fantastic goalkeeping by Getafe custodian Vladimir Stojkovic, the woodwork and some indifferent finishing kept the scoreline down, and Guardiola admits that his one complaint from the game was they did not make it safe earlier on.

"I think we should have won by a greater margin," he said.

Barca`s victory last night not only kept them six points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the Primera Division but also took them a step closer to a series of milestones.

For a start they remain on course to become the first Spanish team to win the treble of league, cup and European Cup having already reached the final of the Copa del Rey and semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Catalans are also on target to break the Primera Division points total for a season, which is currently the 92 accumulated by Real Madrid in the 1996/97 campaign - when there were four more games played - while another 20 goals in their last seven games would see Barca eclipse the single-season record of 107, also set by Madrid in 1989/90.

Plenty of other individual, club and national records are likely to belong to Guardiola`s all-conquering side by the end of the season as well, but the coach himself is focused on one thing only - picking up silverware.

"What we want is to win a title. In the end, we must lift a prize," he added.

The next few weeks will be critical for Barca as they now face a daunting run of fixtures.

In their next seven outings they play Sevilla, Valencia, Real Madrid and Villarreal in the league, Chelsea twice in the Champions League semi-finals, and Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final.

Barca playmaker Messi said on his club`s website: "We know that there is very little of the season remaining and that all the games will be very difficult.

"The important thing is that we won (against Getafe) and we`ve picked up the three points, which was what we needed."
