ARSENAL have rejected an offer of £28m from Spanish giants Barcelona for captain Cesc Fabregas, according to reports in the British media.
The La Liga outfit is reportedly likely to increase its opening offer, after continually being linked with a move to bring the 24-year-old back to the club.
Spain World Cup winner Fabregas is contracted to Arsenal until 2015, having joined the English Premier League club from Barcelona's youth academy in 2003.
Fabregas has said he would one day like to return to his boyhood club, but Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has stated he will not pay over 40 million euros for the midfielder.
