Harry Redknapp has reiterated his desire to sign Mark Viduka, and is contemplating making a double-offer to Boro in a bid to also sign their Nigerian striker Yakubu.

Like many other Premiership bosses, Redknapp’s desire for Viduka peaked after the striker’s brilliant scoring run throughout 2007. Redknapp, speaking with papers in England, rates Viduka as one of the premier strikers in the competition.

“We need to get goalscorers in who can get you 15 or 20 goals a year. But that's what everyone is looking for, so it's difficult,” he said.

“They're like gold-dust. If you can get a front pair who can get you 35 goals between them, you're well on your way.”

”I think there are probably 10 clubs that are interested in Mark Viduka. We're interested, and Mark's making his own mind up,” he told press in Portsmouth.
