Kewell told News Ltd that the new man should be someone who is not afraid to get at the opposition.

"We need someone who's not scared to attack teams," he said.

"You see some guys with talent and if you give the Australian team confidence to attack teams you could see some results going forward."

Kewell has heard the names being linked with the post and is very clear on what he believes the new man should offer.

"I heard (Dutch legend) Frank Rijkaard was in with a shout and someone like that would be brilliant for Australia with passing, moving and attacking football.

"I've been working with a lot of Dutchmen, coincidentally, but as long as it's someone who's confident within themselves."

The Galatasaray man wants a figure who will have a big impact on his players.

"You want someone like (Jose) Mourinho who oozes confidence and it runs through the team," added Kewell.
