Local football fans can have their say on Southern Expansion’s bid to establish a new professional football club through an online survey launched Monday.
The wide-ranging survey includes key components such as the club’s name; playing colours; facilities; values; membership and community activities.
Southern Expansion has commissioned international sports marketing research firm Gemba to conduct the analysis, in conjunction with the supporting St George and Sutherland Football Associations and Football South Coast.
Chief executive Chris Gardiner said the feedback from local clubs, players and the region’s football fans would be crucial in driving the case for Southern Expansion to be granted A-League and W-League licences by the FFA.
“Since we announced our bid, we’ve been out in our communities, consulting with our local associations and working with club coaches and technical directors and it’s now time to hear from registered players, their families and our football fanatics,” Mr Gardiner explained.
“We already know there’s a great sense of excitement about our bid to deliver direct pathways to A-League and W-League teams here in the southern region – which is why we’re urging our passionate, local football fans to get involved and have their voice heard. Their input is crucial.
“We need our community to be part of our journey. It’s our football fans who will help us shape the identity of this new club.”
