TALENTED Young Aussie defender Brendan Hamill is heading to the K-League to join Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma after agreeing a transfer from his A-League club Melbourne Heart.
Hamill, 20, was one of the inaugural members of the Heart squad, linking up with the side in early 2010 following a successful stint at the Australian Institute of Sport.
Making an immediate impression at Hyundai A-League level, Hamill immediately demonstrated a maturity and poise which belied his age, featuring on 34 occasions to accelerate his development as an elite footballer.
Earning selection to the Young Socceroos for the 2011 FIFA U/20 World Cup, Hamill has been a regular member of the national set-up over the past three years, reinforcing his status as one of the leading members of Australian football’s next generation.
Hamill's defensive partner for much of last season, Curtis Good, is also tipped to move overseas with English club Newcastle United close to signing a deal with the Heart player.
