EUROROO WRAP: Australian defender Dean Heffernan helped Huddersfield Town take a step toward promotion from England’s League One with a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic.
The Melbourne Heart defender was in the thick of the action as the Terriers moved three points clear in sixth place.
His cross in the 37th minute was only half cleared, allowing Theo Robinson to make it 1-0.
With a quarter of an hour to play, Heffernan was brought down on the halfway line, paving the way for Athletic's Kieran Lee to receive his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
It makes it three wins from the last four games for Huddersfield.
In Sweden's Allsvenskan, keeper Ante Covic kept another clean sheet as Elfsborg drew 0-0 at home to top of the table Hacken.
It is the 34-year-old's third clean sheet in four games to start the season.
He has only conceded twice with Elfsborg sitting in sixth.
In Ireland's Premier League and fellow shot stopper Chris O'Connor was in goals as Bohemians drew 1-1 at home to St Patricks Athletic in a top of the table clash.
The Bohemians remain in second but have a game in hand early in the season.
In Scotland's First Division, Erik Paartalu was introduced after 64 minutes in Greenock Morton's 2-0 home loss to Inverness CT.
