The electric right winger was joined by injury-stricken colleagues Michael Zullo, Charlie Miller and Massimo Murdocca in this morning's session at Ballymore.

It was a sight to savour for Roar fans and coach Ange Postecoglou after a gruelling opening three months to the season, a period which saw the squad decimated by injuries.

With the A-League on hiatus for this weekend's FIFA international break, Postecoglou is expected to put his squad under the microscope as the season enters the second half.

Although none of the aforementioned players are guaranteed to return as early as the Melbourne match, Henrique said he was happy to be on track to play for the first time since Brisbane's last match against Victory in which he suffered his knee injury five weeks ago.

"It's a big achievement for me," the 24-year-old said. "Today was the first session that I actually trained with the boys, touching the ball and working normally.

"Fitness-wise I feel really good but my touch is not 100 per cent yet. In the next two weeks hopefully I can work my way back to full form and be ready for Melbourne."

Roar have missed Henrique's attacking spark, with Friday night's win against Adelaide the only time they have collected maximum points without him in the side all season.

The former Formiga player said it had been difficult to watch from the sidelines.

"I suffered a lot during this period, especially knowing that if I was fit I'd be able to help the team somehow on the field," he said.

"So it was a really frustrating time for me to see a lot of things happening but not being able to help, but hopefully that's finished now and I'm looking forward to a new beginning."

Before he can complete his comeback, Henrique will first have to impress Postecoglou, for whom he is yet to play.

"First of all I have to train really hard this week to impress Ange and show that I deserve to make the squad," he added.

"If I can do that I will play 100 per cent for as long as I can (against Melbourne), so if I last 45 or 60 minutes at least I will have given all I can."

Brisbane Roar's next match in the A-League is on Saturday November 21 against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.
