The Brazilian-Australian confirmed his big game cred, coming off the bench to score two goals and help kill off Glory's season in a do-or-die clash at nib Stadium on Saturday.

Western Sydney Wanderers must now defeat Adelaide United in the last match of the regular season on Sunday to leapfrog Brisbane into the top six.

Glory's Adam Taggart scored the opener (24') before Henrique (30', 52') and Thomas Kristensen (41') put Roar 3-1 up. An own goal by Jacob Pepper (86') set up a grandstand finish.

Henrique re-signed for Roar in February after an absence of more than a year-and-a half and without a preseason under his belt.

Saturday was a tough shift for the 32-year-old who was subbed on in the 27th minute for an injured Brett Holman. Three minutes after entering the fray he scored the equaliser.

"When I came back I looked the boss in the eyes and I promised him - I'm hungry I want to make the finals and I will leave everything on the field. So that’s what I did," the player known as the Slippery Fish told Fox Sports post match.

"I practice almost every day. So that’s what I do. I know, when you get older instead of just the age it’s experience. So I play a lot of games I know what to do.

Henrique, who won multiple titles with Roar during his first stint at the club, said he won't be watching the Wanderers game.

"To be honest, no," he said. "We did our jobs what happens happens. We’re happy with that."

Glory might have expected to get something out of the match when Roar goalkeeper Jamie Young conceded a penalty with 10 minutes left on the clock. But the custodian went from villain to hero when he denied Diego Castro from the spot.

It was a topsy-turvy night for Young who also gifted Perth the opener when he had a rush of blood to the head, charged 25 yards out of his area, and enabled Taggart to dink the ball over the defence into an empty net.

Brisbane coach and South Australian native, John Aloisi, said he'll be an "Adelaide fan tomorrow" as his team puts their hopes in the Reds to overcome Roar's final obstacle to the playoffs.

"It was such a great performance from our players tonight, " Aloisi said.

"We've had such a tough season. Such a tough start to our season, with all the injuries we've had but these boys don't know how to lie down.

"I hope... I know they would have made the supporters proud of them and it was a great win tonight.

"We had to bring Henrique on earlier than we thought, but he still came on and did his job and we know what he can do, he's such a quality player."

Aloisi added: "Let's hope we can make the finals because these boys deserve it, but it's not in our hands now."
