The north Londoners currently stand eight points behind leaders Liverpool but have the chance to reduce that arrears when they take on the Reds at Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

And Henry, who left Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer of 2007, insists a win over Rafael Benitez's men would throw the battle for top spot wide open.

"Everyone has been having a go at Arsenal but the Premier League is very competitive and not easy for anyone," he told The Sun. "They are still in the race.

"It will be difficult of course because it's better to be eight points ahead than eight points behind as Arsenal are at the moment.

"But it could be five after Sunday if they beat Liverpool."
