ASTON Villa midfielder Chris Herd will miss Australia's friendly international with Scotland after sustaining a quadriceps strain.

The 23-year-old has yet to make his senior international debut for the Socceroos and also withdrew from two previous squads due to injury.
Herd will not travel with the team to Edinburgh as the Socceroos prepare to face Scotland for the first time since 2000, when Frank Farina's side triumphed 2-0 at Hampden Park.
Socceroos coach Holger Osieck has not named a replacement for Wednesday's clash at Easter Road.
The match is Australia's final hit out before they continue their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign against Jordan on September 11 and Iraq five days later.
At yesterday's training sessions in Linlithgow, 30 minutes outside of Edinburgh, the second session was an intense, lively affair with fast-paced passing and gruelling training matches.
Jason Davidson impressed on his first run with the squad with a deft touch on the ball and some clinical defending on the left flank.
Mark Schwarzer looks set to kep his number one slot, despite fell EPL keeper Adam Federici and young prodigy Mitch Langerak both in attendance for the friendly.
