Hertha Berlin have confirmed Socceroo Mathew Leckie will link up with the Australia squad for 2018 World Cup inter-continental play-off against Honduras despite remaining an injury concern.
Leckie, who is suspended for the first leg in Honduras, has missed Hertha's past two fixtures with a thigh complaint.
He isn't expected to play in Hertha's Friday morning (AEDT) Europa League fixture with Zorya Luhansk either. Hertha are also due to play VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday, before Leckie departs on Monday.
The German club's boss Pal Dardai had his reservations about Leckie's fitness but conceded they wouldn't be stopping him getting on the plane.
"I don't expect any miracle cure with Leckie," Dardai said.
"You can't mess around with muscles, anything can happen.
"It's not my business or decision whether or not he plays there.
"I only hope that he's fit when he comes back from international duty, whether he has played or not."
Leckie has been crucial for the Socceroos in recent times, with two assists in the Syria tie, along with three international goals this calendar year.
The speedy 26-year-old winger has started 11 of Australia's past 12 matches, only missing a start when he played as a 57th minute substitute against Chile at the Confederations Cup after a hectic schedule.
