Bayern will head into the clash in winning form after beating Werder Bremen 2-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Franck Ribery's last-gasp winner was not enough though, as Borussia Dortmund retained their league crown with a 2-0 victory against Borussia Moenchengladbach, but Heynckes is more concerned about the huge morale boost the three points will give his players ahead of their trip to Spain.

"Playing every third or fourth day isn't easy, which is why I rotated my squad. I'm satisfied with our attitude and determination," Heynckes said.

"The substitutions had a positive effect on our game. Werder had good chances, but we deserved the win. It was a morale-boosting victory.

"We go to Madrid full of confidence and belief, because we're always capable of scoring away from home. I'm optimistic about Madrid, and so are my players."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was pleased to beat Bremen as they sewed up second place.

"We gave it our all from the beginning, of course it unaccustomed when a completely different team is on the field, in the first half we had the better goal chances, should have gone in lead, but missed our opportunity, and in the second half fell behind, and, then after the goal a lot of quality was brought in, and that paid off," he said.
