The 24-year-old former Newcastle attacking midfielder made his Peterborough debut on Saturday after seven months without a competitive match.

Inman joined Peterborough after a strong 2015-16 season with Crewe which prompted his maiden Australia call-up, before he broke his leg in pre-season.

The Australian’s return to fitness is a boost for Posh who currently sit sixth in League One, with aspirations for promotion to the Championship.

“I rate Brad highly,” Peterborough boss Grant McCann said.

“He was one of my main transfer targets in the summer and I was delighted to get him.

“I’m confident he could play in any of the three attacking midfield positions in our formation and it’s great to have him fit and available for selection.

“I only gave him five minutes on Saturday, but he put himself about and he made a great run which almost led to him scoring a goal.

“Brad will be a key player for us in the second half of the season.”

The Adelaide-born talent, who played under-age for Scotland, sat on the bench when Australia lost 2-1 to England in Sunderland in May.

Inman played in Peterborough’s 1-1 reserves draw with Cheltenham on Tuesday and will be hoping for more game-time against Charlton in the league on Saturday.
