HOLGER Osieck today named his latest Socceroos squad to begin the final stage of qualifying for Brazil 2014.
Australia next month face a friendly against Denmark before taking on Oman and Japan in the opening rounds of their World Cup qualifiers.
Tim Cahill, Nathan Coe, Adam Federici, Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak, Josh Kennedy, Neil Kilkenny, Robbie Kruse, Carl Valeri, Rhys Williams and Michael Zullo are back in the Qantas Socceroos squad after sitting out the match against Saudi Arabia in February.
Matt McKay and Luke Wilkshire also return to the Socceroos squad after missing the last match through suspension after collecting two yellow cards in previous matches during qualification.
Western Australian Chris Herd will join the Socceroos in camp for the first time and will also have a chance to make his senior international debut.
Currently playing with Aston Villa in the English Premier League, Herd had been selected for the squad in November last year for the Oman and Thailand matches in Muscat and Bangkok, but injury prevented him from joining the squad on that occasion.
Fellow Western Australian Nikita Rukavytsya makes a long awaited return to theĀ Socceroos squad after last being selected for the international friendly against Germany last March following solid performances for his German club, Hertha Berliner.
Osieck will reduce the Socceroos squad to 23 players prior to the match against Oman in Muscat.
The Socceroos have played Denmark on two previous occasions with the Socceroos most recently defeating Denmark 1-0 at Ruimsig Stadium prior to the 2010 World Cup.
The Socceroos will be preparing for the final round of World Cup qualifiers, while Denmark will be preparing for Euro 2012, which begins on Friday June 8 where they have been drawn in Group B alongside Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal.
Following the Denmark match, the Socceroos will travel to Muscat to prepare for their qualifier against Oman.
