HOLGER Osieck has named a 26-player squad for next month's vital World Cup qualifiers, with Sasa Ognenovski and Josh Kennedy returning to the green and gold.
Socceroos skipper Lucas Neill returns to the squad after missing the last match against Oman through suspension. Also returning is Bundesliga keeper, Mitchell Langerak.
Osieck has also included seven A-League players in Ivan Franjic (Brisbane Roar), Eugene Galekovic (Adelaide United), Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory), Jade North (Brisbane Roar), Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory), Michael Thwaite (Perth Glory) and Dario Vidosic (Adelaide United) who receives his first call-up under Osieck.
The Socceroos are currently in third position of Group B and need positive results from their remaining three matches against Japan (4 June – Saitama), Jordan (11 June – Melbourne) and Iraq (18 June – Sydney) to secure a top two place in the group to guarantee automatic qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
