SOCCEROOS coach Holger Osieck today announced a 22-player squad that will face the Brazil's Seleção on September 7 - and includes a call up for Central Coast Mariners Mitchell Duke.
Mariners striker Duke has been rewarded for his efforts at the recent East Asian Cup with his second call-up to the Socceroos squad and Middlesbrough-based defender Rhys Williams returns to the Socceroos after missing the World Cup Asian qualifiers in June.
Matt McKay, Mark Milligan and Archie Thompson, along with Duke, are the four A-League players within the Socceroos squad.
This clash will be the seventh match between Brazil and Australia at senior men’s level after the team’s last met at the Allianz Arena in the group phase of the 2006 World Cup where Brazil won 2-0.
The Socceroos are currently ranked 46th in FIFA's World Rankings whilst the Brazilians are currently 9th.
