Rogic was sidelined for four months after sustaining an ankle injury in December, which he re-injured in January, in a further setback.

The 23-year-old Australian midfielder returned to action off the bench earlier last month for Celtic, before being restored to the starting XI against Ross County on April 16.

With a full schedule of crunch games ahead it means he won't get a proper break until the winter shutdown.

“But you look at what is at stake and it outweighs the possibility of getting a holiday," Rogic told Scotland's Daily Record.

"You want to be part of it. It is not something that you want to miss out on,

“At international level you want to be involved in major tournaments and challenging for them. If (Australia) qualify for the World Cup the same thing could happen again next year.

“You just have to be ready for that and enjoy your breaks, whatever small time off that might be. We know we are not getting a massive break at the end of the season to recharge but that is just the way it is.

“You look at the top players in the world, playing for the top countries, and they don’t get a break. They are playing 70 or 80 games a season."

Rogic has made two starts and four appearances off the bench since his return as he builds up fitness ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen on May 27.

He scored 10 goals for Celtic this season prior to his injury and is seen as a key man for the Socceroos. .

“The first (international) match is back home in Australia and then it is the Confederations Cup in Russia so there is a lot of travel but you get used to it," Rogic said.

“You want to be part of important games as a player so hopefully that will be the case."

Australia plays Saudi Arabia in a must-win World Cup qualifier on June 8 in Adelaide, followed by the Confederations Cup in Russia.

Rogic missed Australia’s last qualifiers, a 1-1 draw away to Iraq and a 2-0 home win against UAE, and national team coach Ange Postecoglou will be delighted that he’s back to full fitness.

“I feel great right now,” Rogic told the Celtic website.

“I don’t feel that there are any problems because I feel good and I feel fit.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting period with the club.”

Celtic takes on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League in an exciting Friday night (Saturday morning AEST) clash.

“I’ve scored a few against Aberdeen this season, but it doesn’t count for much ahead of these last few games,” Rogic said.

“It’s in the past and now it’s time to look forward. It’s nice to know I can do it but tomorrow is a new game and we’ll see what happens.”
