Holland coach Marco van Basten is confident victory over Slovenia in Eindhoven on Wednesday will propel his side to qualification from Euro 2008 Qualifying Group G.
Second-placed Holland lost 1-0 to group leaders Romania on Saturday to add to the pressure on the squad, who at most require seven points from three matches to reach the finals in Switzerland and Austria.
Romania are three points clear of the Oranje and can qualify on Wednesday if they beat Luxembourg and third-placed Bulgaria fail to defeat Albania.
Holland are two points ahead of Bulgaria with matches against Slovenia, Luxembourg and Belarus to come.
Van Basten said: "We still have everything in our own hands. First of all, the home matches against Slovenia and Luxembourg have to bring us six points.
"We have three games left to play, in which we have to get seven points."
Van Basten is also aiming for an improved performance from his side following the loss in Romania.
"On the whole we didn't dare to play soccer, that's what disappointed me most," he said.
Slovenia are seven points behind Bulgaria with no hope of qualification and are playing for pride.
Defender Mitja Morec insists the visitors cannot be overawed by their illustrious opponents.
"Against the Netherlands we have nothing to lose, but much to gain," he said.
"We must go into the match determined and we must not get frightened by the reputation of our opponents."
Slovenia are boosted by the return of Bostjan Cesar, who is available again following a four-match suspension, but Dare Vrsic and Dalibor Stevanovic, who both missed Saturday's 0-0 draw with Albania, are unavailable.
Luxembourg will be in buoyant mood as they entertain group leaders Romania after ending their 12-year wait for a competitive victory.
The grand duchy outfit picked up only their fifth win in 87 European Championship qualifiers against Belarus on Saturday, scoring in the 95th minute to win 1-0.
Romania have three matches remaining to secure an unbeaten qualification campaign beginning with the match at the Josy Barthel Stadium, where they could secure a place at a first major championship since Euro 2000.
Romania coach Victor Piturca told www.uefa.com: "My aim is to finish these qualifiers without defeat and, if possible, as group winners.
"Everybody says our match will be easy, but it won't - Luxembourg won in Belarus on Saturday and we have some players missing."
Adrian Mutu, Paul Codrea and Banel Nicolita received yellow cards against Holland, ruling them out of the fixture with Luxembourg through suspension, while Danut Coman, Cosmin Contra, Laurentiu Rosu, Mirel Radoi and Razvan Cocis are absent through injury.
CSKA Sofia midfielder Florentin Petre has been added to Piturca's squad.
Bulgaria require victory in Albania to maintain realistic qualification hopes.
Defeat would leave Bulgaria with an uphill task to overhaul Holland for the second qualifying spot.
Albania held Bulgaria to a goalless draw in Sofia in March and will be looking for a repeat result.
