The Seasiders have fared much better so far in their maiden Barclays Premier League season than many expected, but a sequence of five successive losses means they go into tomorrow's clash with Aston Villa at Bloomfield Road only two points above the relegation zone.

Holloway's side have 13 games left in which to preserve their top flight status, but asked if he was worried about the run-in, the manager said: "I don't worry, that was a thing for when I didn't have a job.

"I've got a job now and I think the football we are playing will keep me in work wherever it is, whoever it is with.

"Hopefully it will be here for a long, long time. So I don't worry - I look at it as a challenge and I can't wait for these games.

"You won't catch me feeling all melancholy about things.

"This is such a joy - for us to have Aston Villa, that massive club, coming here. Let's see if we can win."

Following Chris Hughton's sacking at Newcastle in December and West Brom's decision over the last few days to dismiss Roberto Di Matteo and bring in Roy Hodgson, Holloway is the only one of the three managers who guided their teams to promotion from the Championship last season to still be in a job.

It is a fact that has left the Blackpool boss bewildered.

"Whatever these owners at football clubs want to do, it's entirely up to them, but I would warn them and say this quick-fix nonsense - where is it proven?" Holloway said.

"How can your squad come up and your manager just be judged?

"Surely it's about your team, your players adapting - is your squad as good as that level and if you're not happy with it, are you sure it's not just you not getting what you want? That's what it looks like to me.

"If you've had an overall change of direction like Blackburn did (whose new owners Venky's replaced manager Sam Allardyce with Steve Kean), I could possibly understand that to a point.

"But if you think you are going to come up from the Championship and take this level by storm, then you need to have a serious look at yourself.

"A few months ago Roberto got manager of the month and now he hasn't got a job. To me, that is crazy. And what about Chris Hughton?

"But these people make decisions and who am I to tell them what to do? I'd rather not - I'd rather get on with my job here to be fair."
