BRETT Holman says that self-belief and belief in your mates has the power to make you a formidable challenge for any opponent and that the Socceroos have bucket loads of both.
To see the Socceroos back in training...
While many pundits see Australia managing a draw at best against the Germans, Holman says group strength and unity should not be overlooked when it comes to assessing a challenge.
"If you're realistic and reasonable then you have to look at Germany as one of the favourites for the World Cup even without Ballack," Holman told AAP.
"They've probably got enough good players to put out two sides at a World Cup."
Admiring the opposition is one thing but Australia are adamant that they have a lot going for them ahead of the clash.
"But we've got fantastic quality and the one thing the Australian team's got going for it is everyone believes in each other and believes in themselves," Holman added.
"Especially when you're a close team and the atmosphere's fantastic, you can do great things."
